It's going pretty smoothly. I'm amazed at the smoothness of it all. But then, ask me in a few months. I've got 5 1/2 months to go right now.

I have a little less than ten. TEN MONTHS. I am shitting myself. We should share wedding details, ideas and hints!!!!

Well, mine is both easier, because the venue is serving the food, and supplying the DJ and booze and a lot of the little details, and it's harder because I am an 8 hour drive away from the venue. Also, one of my best friends is doing the flowers, and I fully trust him to do a good job, so I just told him the basic shape I want for the centerpieces, and the bouquets, and said, "go crazy!". So, I'm not giving myself headaches over a lot of the usual stuff that people get freaked out by. I've been watching these wedding communities on LJ, seeing these girls flip out because the roses are the right shade or whatever. I also didn't bother to pick wedding colors, because my venue is wildly colorful already. All my bridesmaids are wearing a different color. It's going to be nuts, I'll love it. I have most of the favors ordered, Mom and I are currently solidifying reservations for the wedding party and families at a guest house, I am sending out invitations next week (I've had them sitting here in a box for a month or two, I'm just lazy) I have not tried on dresses yet, mainly because I have no interest in going by myself to try them on, I don't know many people here, but I'm really not worried about it. If I can't find a dress in time, I'll make one. But I'm not really into the whole huge train and fussy beading etc anyway. My mom suggested that I wear my sister's gown, and I had to bite my tongue before I flipped out on her. OMG, this is getting long. Anyway, I have no tips really. I basically used TheKnot.com as a resource and the anti bride guide that my sister gave me after her wedding to make sure I at least loosley follow tradition and plan out the events.

My wedding is similar... my venue is doing everything (food, cake, music, flowers, etc) so basically I have to just decide what i want and let them know.I do have wedding colors... they are tiffany/robin egg blue and chocolate brown. I think my bridesmaids will wear different lengths of the same dress, and the flowers will be brown. (I saw some and have pics at home- I forget what they are called!)I have been using theknot.com as well- do you have a wedding website there? If so, link me up!!!It sounds like your wedding is going to be as whimsical and full of personality as you are, which is awesome. Larry and I both want the wedding to reflect our style, so we are trying to think about some details that will help with that.I have great sites that you can check out, and once I gather all the links together I will send them your way.We are both creative and we make things, so i bet our weddings will have some handmade items in them, too. :) That is one big thing I am looking for ideas on!

http://traceyandjustin.weddingannouncer.com/ That's our site. I had one at the knot, but this one is more detailed, and I've found the Knot often takes FOREVER to load. I need to add some more details to the site for the out of town guests, and Justin has yet to fill out his part, but no one will be surprised at that. So far the only handmade thing for the party I am toying with is the caketopper. I started making it out of sculpey, and it was almost disasterous, but I am determined to make it, so I'm going to try again. It's going to be a Day of the Dead style rendition of Justin and I. Our favors are pretty Mardi Gras beads that I bought ages ago(posted pics in the wedding filter a while ago), some personalized doubloons that are being printed up right now, I'll post pics as soon as they arrive, some colorful bubble bottles from oriental trading, and I'm trying to think of some kind of candy to have, cuz it's nice to have candy or mints. I am making my bridesmaids gifts. Each of them will recieve a handbag designed by me with their personalities in mind, filled with stuff from lush.com. It's been pretty fun working on them. I'll post pics in my wedding filter when I finish the first one. All those bitches read my LJ, so I have to be careful that they don't see.

Justin needs to hurry up and write up his bio for this page like I asked him to.I almost peed my little panties reading that. That one IS more detailed... I feel sad now that i put our Knot site on all the Save the Dates. Oh well! :(Making your own topper out of sculpey is an awesome idea... I have an ElJay friend that did a fantastic job making miniatures of herself and a friend, so i am going to see if she can do ones for us... I keep forgetting to do that, so maybe I should do it now! :)Oriental trading has a whole wedding magazine, which I am sure you've seen. At certain times of the year, I think they also offer free shipping...Your bridesmaids gifts sound amazing. i wish i was a talented enough seamstress to do that for my own- right now I am making a purse for a friend in Japan, and if it turns out nicely, I will keep practicing. I have no clue what I am going to get them for gifts, or Larry!!!

Haha. I'm surprised I actually sat here and watched it all. I was wondering who that was, but I got that it's Mates of state now. It sounded like them. Thanks for that!

I've seen that before- that's how I feel when I listen to Mates of State and basically how I dance when I see them live. Ahh they're so good!
